This spring, Rob Bone of WMS is getting back to his roots and hitting the streets in Las Vegas. His new position as Vice President and General Manager of Western Sales & Operations is one example of the new direction WMS is taking in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas office is now operating as a second hub location for the company, the original being in Chicago. Bone and his team in Las Vegas are excited to reach out and share WMS’s story. They want to spread the word that WMS is more than a game manufacturer. They are ready to provide an entire set of solutions for networked gaming and beyond. NIGA Chairman Ernie Stevens Jr. joins us on the trade show floor to talk about the economy, challenges and successes in Indian gaming and the importance of Indian Gaming 2010.

CNIGA Chairman and Chairman of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation joins us to chat about hot topics in the industry. Tucker speaks about the importance of the annual NIGA trade show and conference. He also gives us his take on Internet gaming. Tucker says the economy is starting to bounce back. IGT introduced its new, highly popular Sex and the City slot machine at G2E last fall. Now, Knute Knutson, vice president of Native American development, gives us an update on why this has been one of IGT's most successful games ever, in both commercial gaming and Indian country. Knutson also explains how IGT is "taking it to the next level," implementing server-based gaming and grabbing players' attentions with brand recognition.

At Indian Gaming 2010, Ainsworth showed off its Australian-style math game, Players Paradise. Rick Meitzler, senior vice president of North America, tells us this game is “not for the faint of heart … and the numbers have been staggering.” He also shows us Rodeo Riches, the game that was designed for the Native American market.

Lightning Gaming continues its rise in the industry with two new titles debuted at NIGA: Popeye and Scrabble Spin. President Chris Strano explained, “We’re trying to bring games that operators can use to help merchandise and bring something unique and different to the floor, to help the players feel more of something that they are familiar with … but also bring back some of the elements like free spins and wilds.” Watch here to see the games for yourself!

Aruze was optimistic at the show, showing its new G-COMFORT™ slant cabinet. Executive Vice President and General Manager Kent Young said, “Games that are operating in this cabinet versus an upright cabinet always perform at a higher level.” One of those games for Aruze is Showgirl, which tells players they are doing “excellent, excellent, excellent!” during bonus play. Excellence is what Aruze is shooting for and hopes to move forward with great products while aggressively getting licensed in New Mexico and getting ready to move into New York and Connecticut.

MEI’s star at NIGA was EASITRAX, a customer’s informational and operational enhancement according to Mark Staudt, sales director for gaming – Americas. An RFID tag inside the cashbox and antennae board that talks to the tag makes it “smart,” while collecting performance data. Staudt also shares about MEI’s installations in Indian country and Asia.

Interblock USA, a member of Elektroncek Group, was on the NIGA tradeshow floor on its own, for the first time. The company formally launched Organic Twins which can run two table games such as dice and roulette, while players interact, place bets and watch on their personal screens at their seats. Brad Martin, business development manager, said, “We have big plans for this product, we’ve never before had a multi-game product, we’ve never before had a multi-denomination product, this is the first of its kind in the world.” Martin also demonstrated the G4 Organic Card product, the first fully automated, electromechanical card device in the world.
